Holding Space
As the day begins, I’d like to share a question to consider: Who or what do you need to hold space for today?
In the midst of assessments, meetings, and so many other demands, perhaps now more than ever it is vital that we open ourselves to holding space for what has been lingering on the edges of our hearts and minds. We are complex people, dedicated to our professional and personal responsibilities. Finding balance between these two spheres can feel impossible at times.
I don’t have all the answers for how we can achieve that perfect state of balance in our lives. Maybe it’s an ongoing journey. However, I do believe peace and clarity begin to emerge when we hold space for the thoughts, feelings, and concerns that weigh so heavily on us. Holding space doesn’t mean sharing all our opinions on social media, even though this can be done in a healthy, productive way. It means instead of dismissing our confusion, disappointment, longing, or joy, we recognize these are present and allow them space to sit and be real. This may invite curiosity about our thoughts and
