Gratitude for the Future

“Rest and be thankful.” ~ William Wordsworth

I hope you are able to receive rest and renewal during this weekend. In our last reflection, we explored the importance of remaining in the moment, thankful for this space in time. As you find yourself on a longer break from the daily school activities, perhaps your mind is beginning to race with what needs to be done next, how you can use this time to catch up, and worries or wonderings about the future. While the holiday season should be filled with rest, love, and gratitude, at times it may be overwhelmed by responsibilities, planning, and stressors in other areas.

If this resonates with you, I’d like to invite you into a brief practice with me today.

I invite you to take a few moments for some deep, calming breaths and speak these words over your current circumstances.

  • Today, I am thankful for my past, present, and future.

  • I am thankful for the people who have influenced my life thus far and those who will enter this upcoming season.

  • I am thankful for the lessons I’ve learned, and I will apply them in my future.

  • I am thankful for the skills I have built and the skills I will continue to grow.

  • I am thankful for dreams, passions, and a vision to guide me forward.

  • I am thankful that I don’t need to have everything figured out at this moment.

  • I am thankful for a future filled with love, adventure, and impact.
