Getting To Know You

During this time of the year, it seems like every day we are discovering new things about our students. This unexpectedness can be exciting: learning about passions, skills, and new friendships! In our roles as caregivers and advocates, we may also become aware of emotional, physical, or academic needs. We are constantly getting to know the students in our learning spaces. Let’s take a moment to reflect on the relationship-building we are doing.

  • In what ways have you gotten to know your students this year?

  • What have been some joyful discoveries?

  • Are there areas in getting to know your students that feel heavy or stressful?

  • How are your classroom dynamics developing?

  • How would you like to intentionally continue to get to know your students?

  • What are you looking forward to about the class/classes of students you have this year?
