“Called to the Classroom: Daily Reflections for Educators” ~ Author Reflection

Today, “Called to the Classroom: Daily Reflections for Educators” officially launches! I am extremely excited, humbled, and grateful. This is a project I never imagined I would do. Writing a devotional resource for teachers felt incredibly vulnerable. I do not consider myself to be an expert in theology or apologetics. Many people have sophisticated questions I don’t have the answers to. But one thing I do know is I’m passionate about students and education. And, for me, to keep pushing onward as a teacher, I need some gritty faith and a whole lot of grace!

This is what the book is all about: reminding those who work in education that we are called to a difficult profession. But we are not alone. I wanted to share the Inspiration that has led me all the way. I also wanted to give other teachers someone to sit with, to laugh and cry with, to pray and hope with - someone to understand.

During the process of writing stories, poems, and explorations, I often found myself in tears, reliving painful or meaningful memories in my own teaching experience. Navigating these faith-filled themes led me on a much-needed healing journey. On so many occasions, I didn’t even feel like my own words were being put to paper. The love, grace, and encouragement came from Someone else. I will forever be so grateful.

My hope and prayer is that this book may bless, comfort, and empower all who read it.
