Teacher Tip Tuesday: Bookmarks
Our Teacher Tip for today is a time-saving tip as you prepare for your school day. When I began my school mornings, right before the bell rang for students to enter the building, I did a fast scramble to get all of my daily websites open: The attendance website, my Welcome Google Slide, my background classical music, the copies I’ll have to run during my prep time, etc. I found myself spending a few minutes to get everything I needed ready, and usually forgetting a few things in the process.
Then I saw a video of a teacher who used Bookmarks on their computer to save and open all of these websites and files quickly. Many teachers already use this hack daily - I was probably late to the party! But if you haven’t tried it yet or never thought to apply Bookmarks to increase efficiency in your busy mornings, you may want to check out these instructions and give it a try!
Bookmarking Items:
Open your web browser and navigate to the webpage you want to bookmark.
Click on the "Star" icon in the address bar or press Ctrl+D (Windows/Linux) or Command+D (Mac).
Choose a folder to save the bookmark. You can create a new folder if needed.
Click "Done" or "Save" to save the bookmark.
Opening Bookmarked Items from a Folder:
Open your web browser.
Look for the bookmarks icon (usually represented by a star or three horizontal lines).
Select "Bookmarks" or "Bookmark Manager."
Navigate to the folder where you saved the bookmarks.
Right-click on the folder and choose "Open All" or a similar option.
