I Am Victorious

“The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.  This is my God, and I will praise him - my father’s God, and I will exalt him.”  ~ Exodus 15:2 (NLT)

Today’s reflection verse is a small portion of the song Moses and Miriam sang after the Israelites safely crossed the Red Sea, leaving the slavery they were captive to in Egypt. As we read the lyrics they sang in praise, consider the fears, exhaustion, and trauma the Israelites had endured in their lives. They had experienced so much suffering on their journey, and the future was still unknown to them.

In the midst of these difficulties, we hear words of confident praise and thanksgiving. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. The Israelites rose out of unimaginable circumstances into victory because God was leading them to this place, and they listened and obeyed His direction. In every question, God was developing faith. In every traumatic event, God was demonstrating His own strength and resilience within the Israelites.

The promise of God’s victory breathes hope into us. Victory is unfolding in our classrooms, offices, cafeterias, and playgrounds. Both visible and invisible breakthroughs are happening! When it feels as if we are captive in our circumstances, our Savior advocates on our behalf, leading us into freedom. As we follow Him, we are victorious, singing and dancing our praises!

May the Lord Bless You and Keep You:

May you claim victory in your life today.

May the Holy Spirit bless you with confident trust, knowing you will not fail.

Even when hurt, pain, and exhaustion seem to gain power, may you know with certainty that God has gone before you to win this fight.

God is fighting on your behalf today. Live victoriously!
