Hoping for Healing

There’s just something about spring that seems to invite healing. Maybe it’s the warming temperatures or hints of growth. In April, we are exploring hope together. There are so many parts of our lives that are intertwined with hope, and I believe healing is an important one. We hope to find healing in our personal and professional lives. On the personal side, we may seek restoration and renewal within our families, our health, our finances, and our relationships.

In our professional roles, working with children and young adults, there are also many areas in which we may be hoping for healing. We witness hurt and trauma around us daily. Our students arrive at school, navigating complex feelings and complicated circumstances, and we often do our best to lovingly comfort and coach them in these moments. However, we know we can’t fix it all. We may be in the process of healing from our own experiences in our work environments.

As we navigate the healing part of hope this week, we know it is a journey, and usually not a comfortable one, but we do not walk it alone. We are surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues who are also on the road to healing in some way. We all have our own story. So let’s begin by simply considering:

In what areas of your life are you hoping for healing today?
