Gratitude for the Past
“It takes a lot of courage to have an attitude of gratitude during the dark times. But once you have it, it empowers you.” ~ Joshua Tongol
Spend a moment to reflect on the past. The sweet memories you will hold in your heart forever. The smells, the sights, the hugs. The visions that bring a smile to your face as you remember. But the past is a complicated thing. It also carries weight - sorrows, regrets, hurts. The past may feel like an unwelcome friend at times. When your warm, loving memories rejoin you, may you notice them and be thankful. When the difficult or painful pieces of your history resurface, may you be reminded of how you’ve grown, the lessons you’ve learned, and the empathy you’ve shown.
Day #22: Reflect on a picture or photograph that you’re thankful for and why.
