Comfort Zone
“Coming into your calling means coming out of your comfort zone.” ~ Stephen Furtick
As we end another week of busyness and learning, let’s reflect on our calling. We have been called into a service of building up our children and young adults. We advocate for their needs. We keep track of their growth and look for ways to inspire continued progression. We speak life and hope into their days. We are experts in our content and pedagogy. With so many varying responsibilities to our work, there may be areas we feel challenged to come out of our comfort zone.
New teachers, this probably feels like a daily journey for you!
For veteran teachers, this may be a new invitation - a sense that you have gotten accustomed to a process, person, or position. This year, you may be feeling a nudge to explore outside of that comfort zone.
In either case, here lies an incredible opportunity to open ourselves to new understanding and new adventures!
What are some ways you feel yourself being challenged to come out of your comfort zone?
Does this feel exciting or uncomfortable or perhaps a little of both?
By risking comfort and exploring new possibilities, what do you think may happen?
