Celebrating Beauty

During the month of May, we have been focusing on celebration. Let’s reflect on what beauty may look like, sound like, and feel like as we near the end of the school year.

Beauty looks like the class picture on the last day of school.

Beauty looks like the scraps of crafts and imagination found stuffed in the back of desks.

Beauty looks like a misspelled note of gratitude from a student.

Beauty looks like a worn, empathetic smile from a colleague.

Beauty sounds like laughter and tears, all in the same day.

Beauty sounds like, “I’ll miss you!” and “I’ll come visit you!”

Beauty sounds like quiet moments, filled with the echoes of memories.

Beauty sounds like the chorus of celebration: “We made it!”

Beauty feels bittersweet, like the closure at the end of the school year.

Beauty feels like hugs and high-fives.

Beauty feels like the memories held in a now-empty classroom.

Beauty feels like the hope of rest and renewal: the promise of a summer awaiting.
