At the Beginning

“Often when you think you’re at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else.” ~ Mr. Rogers

Beginnings, Endings.

Endings, Beginnings.

Those words feel absolute,

Black and white.

Decisive and concrete.

But life’s endings and beginnings are not so absolute, are they?

They are gray, or perhaps even shades of many colors.

Curious and bittersweet and complex.

There is a certain mystery present in beginnings and endings.

There’s a secretive connection between the two,

For you cannot have one without the other.

When one piece of life fades away or ends abruptly,

Somehow, someway, a new thing emerges.

It may be new and bright and exciting!

It may be risky or intimidating.

One thing to be sure:

Beginnings and endings are the breath of life itself.

Take them in. Learn to find rest in them.

And keep wondering and wandering.
