An Autumn Reminder
“Is not this a true autumn day? Just the still melancholy that I love—that makes life and nature harmonize." ~ George Eliot
Fall is my favorite season. Growing up in Minnesota, I’ve always loved the crisp air, warm sweaters, and beautiful bold colors of the changing trees. I believe this season is nature’s way of reminding us that, while sometimes chilly, bittersweet, or even a bit melancholy, change is beautiful. Change also takes time. Not all the trees turn bright yellow, orange, or red on the same day. And that’s okay. We know they are in an environment that will encourage that process when the trees are ready.
You have put so much thought, planning, and love into the classroom environment you’ve set up for your students this year. Perhaps you’ve envisioned what your classroom community could or should be. Your students will change, grow, and develop their beautiful bold colors in the right time, because they are in the right learning space. As you go into the weekend, I hope you feel a sense of peace in the midst of whatever you are facing during the day. And may you find rest and refreshment during these weekend days.
