A Hopeful Cycle
This week, we have been discovering hope in what we read: the stories shared, the lessons learned, and the observations recorded. New perspectives and pathways begin to open in our mind as we search for hope. We may not yet be at a hopeful place, and that’s okay. We are learning to wait for hope in seasons like this.
Who else may be navigating feelings of hopefulness or hopelessness? Perhaps our students are on this journey as well. We have another day in front of us, awaiting opportunities to smile, greet our students, and share a piece of hope. I wonder if they have discovered the inspiration that a book or story can carry. Probably many students have, but why not propel the cycle further?
Whether you teach music or math, coach wrestling or track, lead a district or keep our buildings safe: share your love of reading with students today! What is one of your favorite quotes? Do your students know it? Who is your favorite author and why? What books have inspired you? When our students see examples of authentic hope in the midst of challenging circumstances, it may result in a hopeful cycle too powerful to imagine. It starts with us today.
