Obstacles.

My dreams are big and beautiful and bold.

They linger in my soul, underneath the surface.

They pierce through ordinary thoughts and activities.

Some are still silent, waiting to be discovered.

But obstacles lay before my dreams,

Foreshadowing fears of failure or disappointment.

As I run toward my dream in this obstacle course called “life,”

I come across hurdles - tall barriers made of doubts and questions.

I travel around twists and turns - the unexpected changes life brings.

When I least expect it, a pit encompasses me, leaving me to choose between

Remaining stuck or beginning the climb, building my muscles with every mistake I learn from.

As I choose forward movement, I see how strong I can be.

I jump the hurdles of self-doubt by knowing and naming the gifts I’ve been given.

I tackle the questions by finding answers.

I’m always curious - always searching.

I get to foreshadow my own life.

My response to the obstacles reveals the realities of my big, beautiful, bold dreams.
