I Am Loyal
“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
~ 1 Corinthians 13:7 (ESV)
Our reflection verse for today is often heard at weddings. We think of a couple so connected to each other, they commit to bear, believe, hope, and endure all things together. Through strong seasons and challenging times, they choose to be loyal and begin the next day in love.
Loyalty means to give or show firm, constant support to a person or thing. Rather than simply a feel-good sentiment, loyalty invokes a sense of power and determination: a firm display of constant support. Our reflection verse from 1 Corinthians is a definition of loyalty. Paul’s words describe loving unconditionally, trusting others’ lived experiences, and never ceasing to hope for better things. Loyalty is enduring all things for the sake of the one with whom you are loyal.
We are called to be loyal to our students, showing firm and constant support. This commitment is the backbone of our advocacy and belief as teachers. We create a space where boundaries are established and respected, and where trust is cultivated. On positive days and difficult days, we bear, believe, hope, and endure all things, grounded in the matchless love of Christ. This support goes deeper still. How are we talking about our students when they are not around? How are we consistently demonstrating support and advocacy? The answers to these questions are powerful.
May the Lord Bless You and Keep You:
Today, may you feel the firm and constant support of your loyal Father.
May you be given a new directive to be uncommonly loyal to others.
May your faith and loyalty be grounded in the love of Christ.
May you fiercely believe that God has a purpose for all people.
May your students sense your loyalty and devotion to them.
And may God use your trust and obedience to bless your space of learning.
