I Am Generous

“In a word, what I’m saying is, Grow up. You’re kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.” ~ Matthew 5:48 (MSG)

The way God lives toward you

Consider the generosity and grace of God. Where has God shown you unending generosity in your life? How has He blessed you in ways you could not have imagined? Where has He shown you abounding grace when you needed it the most? We may feel this when we have made it to the end of a tough day. He has led us through even the most chaotic and unexpected moments, providing an abundant supply of love, grace, and strength.

Live generously and graciously toward others

The more we dwell on God’s generosity and compassion for us, the more our awareness of the blessings in life are heightened. Thankfulness becomes habitual in our lives. We have been lifted up and our perspective shifted to see the world through a lens of freedom. Our clenched fists become relaxed and open to others because of the great love God has shown us. Gradually, we grow up and change, displaying the marks of God’s Kingdom while sharing generosity and grace with our students, colleagues, families, and community members. God gives us abundant compassion to understand others, take action, and pray fiercely.

May the Lord Bless You and Keep You:

Today, may you be filled with the Holy Spirit, inspired to live generously.

May you reflect on God’s lavish gifts in your life.

May you respond to these blessings with thankfulness and praise!

May the Holy Spirit orchestrate opportunities to show generosity to others.

May these actions be rooted in Christ’s love, not an obligation to provide.
