How Are You?

Dear Teacher, how are you?

Are you enjoying your drive to work, embracing the autumn atmosphere?

Are you entering your work day, inspired from a recent breakthrough with a student?

Are you feeling distracted, with many tasks, events, and reminders filling your mind?

Are you on autopilot today, simply doing the next thing that needs to be done?

Are you feeling lost, alone, and unheard in your efforts to advocate for students?

Are you wiping unexpected and exhausting tears, wondering how you’ll take the next step forward?

How are you?

However you find yourself today, please remember: You are not alone.

Other teachers are celebrating breakthroughs and beautiful moments with students.

Other teachers are also crying in their cars this morning.

We live and work in a community of creative people who are passionate about what they do.

And, like you, these people are human, with the permission to feel both the joys and heartbreaks that accompany the journey of teaching.
