Expressing Gratitude

Expressing gratitude is so powerful. When we write or speak words of thankfulness, it immediately uplifts the environment we are in, even if just for a moment. We may appreciate others and think about this often, but without sharing this appreciation, it’s like a song that is never sung. Invite more light and love into our homes, schools, and communities by intentionally naming your gratitude today.
Here are some ideas to express gratitude:
(These could be easily adapted for students to use in their own daily gratitude.)
Write a quick thank-you message on a sticky note.
Thank a colleague for their creative ideas.
Thank the school chef for providing meals for students.
Take time to write a letter to someone who has been supportive to you recently. Share specific details about how their support has made you feel.
Thank your students for just being at school today.
When you see something awesome, say something awesome!
Take the time to thank a student and explain why their words or actions meant so much to you.
Thank the school custodian for all they do for the school, seen or unseen.
Think of one person who you think receives the least amount of gratitude during the day. Find something meaningful to thank them for.
