A Season of Hope
In the month of April, we will explore the theme of hope together. Many of us are counting down the weeks remaining in the school year, making plans for field trips, end-of-year celebrations, graduations, and so much more. Lingering under the surface may be questions and uncertainties. Did I do enough for this student? Is my child ready for college? What will my job position look like next year? Will my students be okay?
One definition of hope is: a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.
Another definition is: a feeling of trust.
Which definition connects more deeply with you today?
Hope encompasses action, belief, healing, practice, gratitude, and patience. As we journey through April, we will dive into these ideas and how they are woven into the incredibly important work we do with students in our classrooms. Hope is a central characteristic of educators. Without hope, our profession would lose its meaning and purpose. So let’s take our next step, holding onto the process of hope today. Together.
