1 Year Anniversary!
I’m so excited to celebrate with you! Today marks one year since “Called to the Classroom: Daily Reflections for Educators” was published. I feel so blessed and empowered by its impact and I’d like to share some specific highlights.
Schools in at least 13 states have been using “Called to the Classroom” as their staff devotional this year.
Universities in at least 3 states are gifting “Called to the Classroom” to their graduating education students this spring.
Over 1,000 copies have been sold and distributed all around the country.
This weekend, I have the privilege of using the experience of writing “Called to the Classroom” to lead a workshop in Seattle, WA about crafting devotionals with purpose.
I have made so many personal connections (I’ve lost count!) with district leaders, university faculty, teachers, and education support staff all over the country, engaging in conversations about how to best support our students and educators.
A year ago, I was just so thankful and blessed to have completed the project. I was eager to share this resource with others and have it available. Now, I am increasingly aware of how needed this resource is. About a month ago, I received an email from a school I didn’t even know was reading “Called to the Classroom” together for their staff devotional time. The email held a weary, yet grateful tone, as the sender shared how appreciative they are of the words in the book. How much they need this daily encouragement in the midst of the many challenges they are facing.
Today, a year later, I am so much more excited about what the future holds.
